Vipers SC Crowned 2025/26 Uganda Premier League Champions After Dominant Campaign
Defending champions Vipers SC have successfully retained the Uganda Premier League title after sealing the 2025/26 championship with a convincing 3-0 victory over Maroons FC at Wankulukuku Stadium on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
The result confirmed the Venoms as league winners with one match still left to play, taking their tally to 64 points and putting them beyond the reach of second-placed KCCA FC, who remain on 58 points.

It marks a historic eighth Uganda Premier League title for Vipers, further cementing their status among the country’s most successful football clubs. Only SC Villa with 17 league crowns and KCCA with 13 have won more domestic league titles than the Kitende-based side.

The triumph also makes Vipers the first club since the 2019/20 season to successfully defend the Uganda Premier League title, underlining their growing dominance in Ugandan football.
Vipers’ title-winning campaign was defined by consistency, resilience, and authority from the opening weeks of the season. The Venoms spent the majority of the campaign sitting at the summit of the league table and established themselves early as the team to beat.

One of the standout moments of their season came during an impressive unbeaten run across their first 16 league matches. That strong start created an important gap between themselves and their closest challengers while also setting the tone for a championship-winning season.
Throughout the campaign, Vipers displayed balance in every department — combining defensive solidity with attacking efficiency. Their ability to grind out results away from home while remaining dominant at St Mary’s Stadium played a crucial role in their successful title defence.
Although the title race tightened slightly during a shaky run in May, Vipers responded like true champions when it mattered most. With pressure mounting and rivals hoping for a late collapse, the Venoms delivered one of their most composed performances of the season against Maroons to officially secure the crown.

The visitors controlled proceedings from the opening whistle and eventually broke through with goals from Yunus Sentamu, Usama Arafat, and Abdul Karim Watambala, sealing a comfortable 3-0 win and sparking celebrations among players, technical staff, and supporters.
The victory not only confirmed the championship but also highlighted the squad depth and experience that carried Vipers through difficult moments across the season.
With the league title secured, Vipers now shift focus to continental competition as they prepare to represent Uganda once again in the CAF Champions League.
Having established themselves as one of East Africa’s strongest clubs in recent years, the Venoms will now aim to translate their domestic dominance onto the African stage.

For Vipers SC, the 2025/26 season will be remembered as another landmark chapter in the club’s rise a campaign of consistency, composure, and championship mentality that ended with back-to-back league titles and yet another trophy added to their growing collection.
