UPL Transfers: Kitara FC Lands Experienced Ghanaian Defender on Two-Year Deal

Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC have completed the signing of experienced Ghanaian centre-back Christopher Bonney on a permanent transfer ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko defender has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Royals as they continue to bolster their squad for both domestic and continental assignments.
Bonney arrives with a wealth of experience from Ghana's top flight and has also represented Ghana at youth international level with the Black Meteors. His arrival is expected to strengthen Kitara's backline as the Hoima-based club prepares for a demanding campaign.
The move also presents Bonney with his first opportunity to play in the Uganda Premier League after an earlier attempt to join Uganda Police FC last year failed to materialize.
With Kitara FC having secured qualification for the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup, the Ghanaian defender will now have the chance to showcase his qualities on the continental stage as the Royals aim to make an impact in Africa.
Bonney becomes one of Kitara's key additions during the current transfer window as the club continues to reinforce its squad ahead of the new season.
