Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have officially appointed French tactician Denis Lavagne as their new head coach on a two-year contract.
The 61-year-old takes over from Ivan Jacky Minnaert, who departed the club by mutual consent at the end of last season after guiding the Venoms to an unbeaten league title triumph.
Lavagne arrives at St. Mary's Stadium with close to three decades of coaching experience spanning Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. His impressive résumé includes four league titles and three domestic cup trophies with Coton Sport, whom he led to the final of the CAF Champions League in 2008.
The veteran coach has also managed the Cameroon National Football Team and several leading clubs across the African continent, earning a reputation as one of the most experienced coaches in African football.
At Vipers, Lavagne will be supported by assistant coach John Luyinda, while Salmi Yassine joins the technical team as Head of Performance and Fitness.
The appointment signals Vipers SC's ambition to maintain their domestic dominance while strengthening their challenge on the continental stage under the guidance of the highly experienced Frenchman.
