Ashiraf Mugume 'Fadiga' Inspires KCCA to Comfortable Win as Citizens Climb to Second
KCCA FC produced a dominant display to defeat Maroons FC 3-0 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Thursday evening at Phillip Omondi Stadium.
The Citizens controlled proceedings from the start and eventually broke the deadlock in the 44th minute through Fadiga, who finished off a well-worked move to hand the hosts a deserved lead heading into halftime.
KCCA returned from the break with renewed energy and continued to pile pressure on Maroons. Achai later doubled the advantage before Fadiga turned provider in the closing stages, setting up Ivan Ahimbisibwe for KCCA’s third goal of the night in the 90th minute.
The strike marked Ahimbisibwe’s 13th league goal of the season as the forward continued his impressive scoring form.
The emphatic victory lifts KCCA to second place on the Uganda Premier League table with 55 points, moving one point above Kitara FC and narrowing the gap on league leaders Vipers SC to four points.
Elsewhere in the day’s early kickoff, Entebbe UPPC FC secured a 2-0 victory over UPDF FC at Bugonga Fisheries Grounds.
