Uganda Cranes’ International Friendlies in Morocco Cancelled Over Health Concerns
The Uganda Men’s National Football Team, the Uganda Cranes, will no longer take part in their scheduled international friendly matches in Morocco after the fixtures were officially cancelled due to health-related concerns.
The Cranes had been set to face the Tanzania national football team on 5th June 2026 and Madagascar national football team on 8th June 2026, with both matches planned to take place at Stade de Marrakech.
Confirming the development, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations issued an official statement announcing that the games had been called off.
> “CANCELLED: The two International Friendly matches against Tanzania and Madagascar have been cancelled due to sanitary and public health considerations as communicated by authorities through our match agents.”
The cancellation means Uganda will miss out on the planned build-up fixtures that were expected to offer valuable preparation and assessment opportunities for the national team ahead of upcoming competitive assignments.
