KCCA FC ended an eight-year wait for silverware after defeating NEC FC 1-0 in a tightly contested 2026 FUFA Super 8 final at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Tuesday. The Kasasiro Boys secured the title through a first-half penalty converted by midfielder Saidi Mayanja, whose decisive strike proved enough to settle a cagey final and hand KCCA their first trophy since 2018. The victory also marked a memorable start to life under head coach Brian Ssenyondo, who secured his first trophy with KCCA FC since taking charge of the club. NEC pushed for an equaliser after falling behind but KCCA's disciplined defensive display kept the table leaders at bay until the final whistle. The triumph gives KCCA an early boost ahead of the 2026/27 domestic season and adds another major trophy to the club's decorated history. Earlier in the day, SC Villa secured third place after overcoming Kitara FC 4-1 on penalties following a goalless draw after 90 minutes. UPPC FC finished fifth, followed by BUL FC in sixth, Maroons FC in seventh and Uganda Police FC in eighth. KCCA FC's midfielder Mayanja was named the FUFA Super 8 final's Most Valuable Player after his match-winning contribution, while KCCA goalkeeper Mutwalibi Mugoloofa received the Best Goalkeeper award and NEC FC's striker Richard Basangwa won the Topscorer's. accolade.
